Recently, the Bon Bon’s Coffee Crew had the opportunity to visit our roasting facility and see firsthand how our coffee goes from raw beans to the delicious brews you love.
Here's what we learned and why it matters to you, our valued customers.
The Roasting Visit: A New Addition to Bon Bon’s
Since November 2024, we’ve had a new addition to the Bon Bon’s family—our very own roasting facility! In a cozy corner of Brian’s garage, we’ve set up a space where we now roast all of our coffee beans ourselves. This not only saves us money in the long run but also gives us more control over the quality and consistency of our beans.
Who Went and When?
At the end of July, the Bon Bon’s team (including our talented baristas, manager Emily, and our content manager) had the opportunity to visit the roasting facility and see the process up close. This was a unique opportunity for the crew to immerse themselves in the art of coffee roasting, which is so central to our values.
What Did We Learn?
Brian, our roaster and coffee enthusiast, gave the team an in-depth tour of the roasting process. He walked us through the journey of how our coffee beans are sourced—coming from some of the world’s most renowned coffee-growing regions, including Central and South America, Colombia, Guatemala, and Ethiopia.
We learned all about the roasting process, the machines involved, and the techniques Brian uses to achieve the perfect roast. Brian even shared insights from his trip to Costa Rica, where he immersed himself in their coffee traditions and learned more about the rich history and cultural significance of coffee.
Why This Visit Matters for Bon Bon’s and Our Customers
Seeing the process of how the beans are roasted is incredibly valuable, especially for our baristas. It’s important for our team to understand the entire journey of the coffee—from bean to cup—so that they can be fully immersed in the Bon Bon’s experience and share that passion with you.
Plus, now that our baristas understand the roasting process, they’re better equipped to answer any questions you may have about your coffee. Whether you're curious about where your beans come from or how we achieve that perfect roast, our team can give you all the inside details.
The Relationship Between Bon Bon’s and Our Roastery
For years, we’ve relied on a separate company to roast our coffee beans. But as our demand grew, so did our need for a more efficient and personalized approach. That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands. Now, with our own roasting facility, we have complete control over the entire process—allowing us to ensure the highest quality for every batch we roast.
We’ve invested in the best machine for the job, and it’s been an exciting step forward for Bon Bon’s. Having our own roastery means we can meet the growing demand while maintaining the quality and care that our customers expect.
What’s Next?
As we continue to grow, we’re committed to keeping you connected to our journey. We’ll continue to roast our beans with love and care, ensuring that every cup of coffee you drink is as fresh, flavorful, and full of passion as the day we started.
We can’t wait to share even more with you—so next time you visit Bon Bon’s Coffee, you’ll know just how much goes into every cup.
